Short Biography

Dr. Mehedi Hasan is a medical doctor by training and completed his Master of Public Health (MPH) from BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health (BRAC JPGSPH). Currently, he is pursuing research on Non-communicable Diseases and Nutrition. His research area of interest is inequity in the distribution of NCDs and the relationship between overnutrition and NCDs. Dr. Mehedi was the founding Coordinator of a national hub called the ‘Centre for Non-communicable Diseases and Nutrition (CNCDN)’, which aims to support NCD research in Bangladesh under the Global Health Research Unit funded by the National Institute for Health Research. Currently, he is working at the Centre of Excellence for science of implementation and scale-up to conduct implementation research for NCD interventions. Dr. Mehedi has published more than 30 research articles in international peer-reviewed and high-impact journals.
